I have always wanted a typewriter, after seeing many beautiful vintage ones in charity shops and vintage fairs. I am a lover of type in all its forms and there is something really nostalgic about using one - the feel, sounds, hands on process. My dad bought me this as a gift and I couldn't believe how absolutely beautiful it is - and it works! I do need to find somewhere to replace the ink ribbon for me so that I can start using it for real, in final work and sketchbook work. It seems to really lend itself to narrative within collage and mixed media pieces - something which I would like to explore more of in my own practice.
