Notes
I am such a sucker for photographs and these landscapes are no exception. What really speaks out to me is the sense of atmosphere. The audience may not be there, in that moment when Kyon took the photo, however these images definitely do their best to transport us there. Composition, subdued lighting and hues and angle of the shots all help to keep these images dark, moody but still aesthetically pleasing and sought after. I would like to incorporate some of these colour palettes into my own work for level 6, and any work I attempt over the summer. Colour for me is key to drawing the audience in, making a lasting impression, whilst also communicating setting, time depth - you name it. I would also like to see how I can incorporate photography into my illustrative work. Not necessarily going down the route of collage - but maybe pushing the limit to what I can create in-front of the lens - manipulate / distort reality some how and have a go at my own "dreamy landscape" series.
