For the group meeting I managed to draw up a rough guide of the slides and what order I thought they should be in. This was just common sense really - but it did help us in terms of looking at the presentation as a whole and what slides followed on from other etc. Pace and flow was important to keep in mind when delivering the presentation and organising our script including who says what.
A few bits needed finishing on the slides, including attempting to get our stop motion video to play as part of the slide show. For some reason, when using a Google document when presenting, our stop motion promo video would not play. This meant downloading the full presentation as a PowerPoint file and embedding the video into the PowerPoint slide that way instead. This was pretty straightforward - but a bit of hassle as time quickly ticked by.
Requesting to be the first team to present meant making sure our script was rehearsed and lasted the full 10 minutes as requested. Our practise run throughs highlighted one thing in particular....we have some speedy speakers in the group, so we tried to make sure each of us were speaking at a calm relaxed pace as well as delivering the information in a clear and concise way. Nerves affect people in different ways, however with our 17 slides packed with info, we were pretty confident our presentation would be long enough.

Specific script for the slides I was to present:- Shopfront (slide 6)
When designing our logo for our business concept, we wanted to communicate us as individuals (a bit of a random collection of creatives) as well as being unforgettable. We wanted the logo to be bright and eye catching in aesthetics whilst remaining simple and easily recognisable. This helped with the logo placement on merchandise, promotional products and use in marketing campaigns.
- Who we are (slide 4)
(First to speak)...Hey guys Im Jess
- Promotion (Slide 9)
A starting point for our promotion was a simple one which proved to be really effective. We drew portraits on 5 lemons (1 for each of us) and took the lemons out for a photoshoot around Leeds. The brightness of the fruit proved to be intriguing and stand out on the street. Straight away the lemons got people asking us questions and wondering what we are about.
The photos from the shoot provided us with imagery for various flyer's, billboards and poster designs, business cards and other promotional products. These mock ups helped us visualise how we would like the business to be viewed by the public and got us thinking about successful ways to promote ourselves.
As well as the promotional products and photoshoot, we also created a quick stop-motion video to be used either as a looping video or GIF on a variety of social media sites.
- Growth & Expansion (slide 14)
In our first and second year we do not expect to make a profit or grow financially to expand in any way. This is down to our non profit nature and will be putting all of the money made back into the running of the business.
In our 3rd year we hope things will have stepped up a bit. We plan to be in a position to expand the business by buying a van and venturing out - beginning the "visiting workshops" part of our business plan.
In our 4th year we hope to be able to expand our current premises, increase the amount of hot desk/studio space , open an "in shop" gallery and attract visiting professionals with the hope of various workshops, talks and interviews being available to the public.
By our 5th year, if all has gone well, we hope to be in a strong position to expand our business into other major UK cities, increasing our status, customer/visitor base and overall give back with a bigger impact to various communities around the country.
- What makes us different? (slide 16)
Thank you for your time, any questions?
