Banksy's Dismaland

Dismaland - The Official Unofficial Film from Jaybee on Vimeo.

This summer I was luckily enough to get my hands on some tickets to the much awaited Banksy's Dismaland. Having been a fan of Banksy's work, political satire within creativity, along with many of the creatives involved in this exhibit, I was really excited to see what it is all about.

One of THE MOST inspirational shorts I have ever seen - that has resonated with me on so so many levels:

Thoughts following the visit:
Political satire within art is visual thinking that I have never been able to do personally and i think this is why I am so intrigued by it. Spreading awareness and the truth can often be seen as anarchic - however in this day and age I feel everyone should have a voice and what better way to display and convey the "voice of the people" than through art.

I hope to be able to attempt, develop and in the end hopefully master the ability to shock and employ impact within my work. In my opinion, art/creativity with depth and substance (such as this) can really strengthen an approach and overall body of work and final resolutions. It has meaning and resonates on a deep level with the audience, hopefully educating, enlightening and spreading awareness in such a way that the audience comes away not only finding the  aesthetics of the pieces pleasing/interesting/impactive - but also immersive, engaging, informative and something to talk about, possibly even changing perceptions and being ultimately life changing.
